jeneva's first race

Here we are. She's ready to go! Her first race. Webber Park. Labor Day.

Sporting her new birthday New Balance tennis shoes and tanking up on some lemonade and a hot dog before the race.

Look! Her good buddy Jack came to run too and her neighbor friend, Zuri. Hooray!

Listening for directions from the guy at the start.

Hooray! Jeneva finishes strong. Her first half mile race. She finished in 4 minutes and 18 seconds.

Hey, way to go Jeneva Rae!!!
The first of many races to come, I'm sure...especially when you have parents who ran track and cross country.
But tanking lemonade and hot dogs BEFORE the race???? :)
Great tennis shoes.
love from a proud gramma

Way to go, Jeneva!! It is so obvious she has parents who are gifted runners-she basically ran an 8 minute mile-and she's only five! That is way faster than me. She'll be running 5K's before you know it. She rocks.

That's so much fun! It was a hot one today.. she surely needed that lemonade to cool down.

No way, an 8 minute mile is respectable!!!

way to go, Jeneva!!

Great job! I'm sure the protein in that hot dog is what got her through the brutal second half. She looks great and has good form.
Congratulations!
