flooding in my home town

The flooding in Iowa is incredible. Here are pictures from Iowa City. Out of 99 counties, 83 of them have been declared disaster areas. I know that natural disasters happen all of the time all over the world, it's just a surreal feeling when it happens in such a familiar place. The amount of natural disasters world wide has gone up 200% in the past 2 decades. Surely that is a sign of the times.

surgery?




Yep, folks, hernia surgery. If you need hernia surgery you might as well tag along with Mr. Miller! We were visiting Ma and Pa Stutzman in Kalona, IA this week and I noticed this in the local paper. I used to joke about a front page headline in the Kalona News a few years back: "Library Gets a New Door." Only in small town, USA would that make the front page! Gotta love it!
